The road will be closed from Monday 2nd February 2015 and re-opening on Friday 15th May 2015 essential road works are taking place in the widening of the Railway bridge and the installation of electrics for the new style of train and the increase in traffic.
Station road will be closed from just after the Rivington Bar/Grill prior to the Railway Car-park and from the Horwich direction just prior to the bridge.
Below are basic directions of how to travel to the Rivington Bar/Grill.
Chorley Rd turn onto Railway Rd, pass the railway on your left to the roundabout then turn right onto the A6 (Market Street) and follow the A6 for 2.2 miles.
Turn left and the Rivington is on your left.
There is also a route from Bolton road (A673) Adlington and then turning left onto Grimeford Lane to the end and then turning left onto the A6.
However Grimeford Lane is soon to close for road-works also. Please check prior to your journey.

Stay in the left lane to the second roundabout and take the second exit straight on.
Come to the third roundabout and turn right, second exit onto the A6 (Manchester Road) for 2 miles and turn right onto Station road and immediate left into our car-park.
There are no changes from Westhoughton, Bolton, just follow the A6 and turn right onto Station road and left onto our car-park.
We are aware of the inconvenience caused by these road-works and hope this will not mar the warm welcome and high standards you will receive at the Rivington.
